other rules are indicated on the paper.
Installing the VMs
- We start by with installing Windows Server, Windows Client and FreeSCO to establish LAN connection between them.
- We put the 2 VMs on the same LAN by choosing LAN in the network settings.
- We go to the FreeSCO IP address on a browser and activate the DHCP.
- We verify by pinging the each client.
- If ping doesn't work it's mostly because of the firewall, either we disable the firewall or we add a rule to allow entering pings.
Creating 2 Disk Partitions
- Go to VM settings and add a disk partition manually. Make it E:\
- Go to Disk Manager and make it online and name it Data
Changing the IP address of the Server
- Change the IP address from the settings, make it static, server is the DHCP and distributing the address to other devices.
Creating DNSs
- Go to the DNS manager inside the Windows Server.
- Create the DNS addresses demanded by right-clicking on the white space. F5 to renew the page and see them.
- ![[Pasted image 20240312160451.png]]
- For FreeSCO we get the latest address in the FreeSCO page like 192.168.1.1

Adding the client PC to the Domain
- We do it from the client's machine
- Go to sysmd.cpl and edit the name and the domain of the PC.
- We have chosen PC-Client01 for the PC name and the domain is tssr.info
- Attention: For this to work, we need to stop DHCP of FreeSCO because we want the server to attribute IP addresses to the clients.
Adding a script
- Script shouldn't have .txt at the end.
- Create a script ******.bat inside the NETLOGON or >>scripts file.
- Add the script inside the profiles in AD.
Script content:
@echo off
cls
net use i: \\srvad01\IT_Commun
This script creates IT_Commun file inside each users shared files.
